Aloha to a Talented Mediator, Leader and True Friend of the Mediation Center
Charles H. Hurd
January 7, 1946 – May 18, 2015
It is with great sadness that the Mediation Center bids farewell to long-time mediator and past President, Chuck Hurd. Chuck was a life-long learner and lover of people and life. He enjoyed the challenge of mediating cases of all types and helping people work through issues, no matter how complex. One of his secrets to success … he always had a story to share that would inevitably bring smiles and laughter to all.
Over the past few years, Chuck became one of the most highly sought after mediators in Hawaii. Despite his success, he continued to volunteer for the Mediation Center and dedicate hundreds of hours and financial resources to help the Mediation Center grow and flourish. In particular he will be remembered for creating and growing the Kupuna Pono Program to support Hawaii’s Kupuna and their families, and for coordinating the biggest fundraiser in the history of the Mediation Center, one phone call at a time. Aloha Chuck. Your legacy lives on.
