2013 Training Schedule

We will be conducting Basic and Advanced Mediation Trainings during 2013. Come learn introductory mediation skills in the Basic Mediation Training, or fine tune your skills in the Advanced Mediation Training. Our specialized trainings include Divorce Mediation, Special Education Mediation, Condo Mediation, Civil Rights Mediation, Elder Issues Mediation, Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation, and Facilitation, among others. BASIC MEDIATION

Basic Mediation offers an introduction to a facilitative model of mediation and the core skills of effective listening, asking powerful questions, maintaining neutrality, interest identification, negotiation, agreement writing, ethical considerations, and managing challenges.

ADVANCED MEDIATION

Advanced Mediation builds on the core skills to provide additional tools of evaluation, negotiation, overcoming impasse, cultural implications, accommodating persons with disabilities, managing power imbalances, and working with attorneys, interpreters, multiple parties and challenging personalities.

PATERNITY MEDIATION

Learn to develop co-parenting plans, timesharing arrangements, and how to overcome challenges when mediating paternity cases.

DIVORCE MEDIATION

Divorce Mediation offers a custom model for a neutral mediator to assist divorcing couples in negotiating agreements on property division and custody and visitation issues, while focusing on the “best interests of the child.”

FACILITATION

Facilitation offers an overview of tools for designing and conducting group meetings to proceed smoothly and productively.

FAMILY CONFERENCING FOR ELDER ISSUES

This training will teach family conferencing for elder issues for a neutral to be able to help families talk and create plans that meet their specific family needs. Learn to deal with multiple parties, attorneys and advocates, and develop cultural sensitivity and approaches for working with diverse participants.
